Supercar trio show future's bright

Design studies show how BMW, Lamborghini and Ferrari supercars could look

Take a look at the supercars of tomorrow. These amazing machines are the work of Iranian designer Emil Baddal.

He’s taken styling cues from BMW, Lamborghini and Ferrari sports cars – and then let his imagination run free. Of the three striking drawings, the BMW design is perhaps the most successful, taking the famous ‘sharknose’ look of much-loved coupés, such as the 635i, and giving it a new twist.

The kidney grilles are painted black, emphasising the highly detailed headlights further, while the bonnet gets enormous power bulges. Together with a chopped roof and deep air intakes, it looks the part.

As for the Lamborghini design, it’s clear that the inspiration has come from the firm’s Murciélago LP-640. Baddal has dragged the rear end down to a focal point around the central exhaust, and with recessed air intakes and vents, the tail-lights look menacingly deep set.

Meanwhile, the silver machine could almost be one of Ferrari’s own concepts for the new F450. With wide-set headlamps and an F1-style low splitter, it looks incredibly mean and convincing. You’ll be able to see how the F430 replacement really looks when it arrives next year.
